In the Mood for Love 2000

The setting of this film is Hong Kong China of 1962.  Chow Mo-Wan is a newspaper editor and he moves with his wife to a new building.  On the same day, Su Li-zhen also moves into the same building in an adjacent apartment.  Su is a secretary and her husband is an executive who travels a lot.  Chow and Su become friends since their spouses are away a lot traveling.  They both frequent a nearby noodle shop and they are interested in martial arts.  Chow is writing about martial arts and Su starts to help him with his work.  Their friendship becomes stronger when they find out that their spouses are seeing each other on their business trips.
There is a lot going on in this film but it often seems inconsequential.  Just everyday life filled with people but also with loneliness.  I had to pay attention because of the subtitles but I didn’t want to?  I just didn’t see much to watch and think about?  2 ½* (This movie is so-so)
