Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm Season 1, 2021

Top Gear and Grand Tour are taking a break and 61 year old Jeremy Clarkson is spending a year working his 1000 acre Diddly Squat Farm.  It was purchased 11 years ago but he hasn’t been able to work on it because of his television shows.  It is located between Chipping Norton and Chadington in the north of the Cotswolds in the United Kingdon.  Jeremy says he has loved every second on the farm but that is not proven to be true in the series.  He doesn’t know what equipment he should be buying.  He doesn’t listen to how he is supposed to plow the field and he does it wrong every time.

At the end of his year of farming he takes stock and finds out what he did that was profitable and what was a bust.  He also has the Diddly Squat Farm Shop and it is supposed to only stock items from the farm.  It is run by Lisa Hogan, she is an actress and Jeremy’s girlfriend.  21 year old Kaleb Cooper is hired to teach Jeremy how to plow, plant, breed, birth, rotate, irrigate, harvest and do all the other farm jobs.  Kaleb worked with the previous manager of the farm for 11 years.  Another nearby farmer, Gerald Cooper stops by frequently but there isn’t any need to listen to what he says!!  A nice enough guy but you can’t understand any of his words??

The area of Chipping is renowned for its wool and tweed production and has sold such items dating back to the 13th century.  Many times the weather and the crops do not cooperate.  The animals are also not cooperative.  To add to all this drama there is the arrival of COVID-19 in the UK.  There are eight episodes in this series shown on Amazon Prime.  5* (I really liked this series and I thought it had a LOT of humor)

Note:  Imdb 9.3* out of 10* popularity 183 out of 932, The Guardian 2* out of 5* Lucy Mangan, The Telegraph 4* out of 5* Anita Singh, news.co.uk/culture/televison 4* Rachael Sigee, Amazon 4.9* of 5* with 493 reviews.
