DCI Banks receives a phone message from his brother Roy and he is asking for help? DCI Banks heads to Harrogate to find out what is going on with Roy? The brothers have a 12 year age difference between them with Banks as the oldest. DI Helen Morton is new on the team and she has a somber tactless style. She is taking Annie Cabbot’s place since Annie is on maternity leave. Helen finds evidence linking DCI Banks to the woman’s body and he could be a suspect? This decision doesn’t help the mood of the team!! Banks doesn’t know what’s going on at the station. He’s set out on tracking down Roy and finding out what is going on? Morton is miffed that Banks is missing in action!! Banks discovers there are questionable business transactions and associates in Roy’s company?
The scenery with panoramic shots of windswept moorlands or rain drenched quarries is very beautiful. Banks doesn’t answer his phone for most of the day and he’s supposed to be getting filled in on this murder inquiry. Morton doesn’t know that Banks has been contacted by his brother and he’s already on the case. Background is provided into the life of the Banks family. Roy is definitely higher paid than Banks!! He has a Porsche in the garage, he lives in a desirable country house of traditional stone and he has a comfortable lifestyle involving numerous foreign holidays. Additionally, his family doesn’t know he’s engaged and Roy also has a girlfriend? Because Roy is the youngest it could be known as the baby of the family in the minds of his parents? I think the stories and the characters are interesting and realistic. 5* (I liked this episode)

Special Note: The character DI Helen Morton is played by Caroline Catz, she also has the role of Doc Martins wife Louisa in that series. This series is based on novels by Peter Robinson. DI Hellen Morton doesn’t appear in the original novels. During filming, Andrea Lowe in the role of DS Annie Cabbot was pregnant in real life. DI Morton remained in the series after Andrea returned in Season 3.
