Frankie Drake is a female private detective operating her agency in Toronto in the 1920’s. Frankie is Toronto's only female private detective in the 1920s. She takes on the cases the police don't want or can't handle. Along with her partner Trudy, Frankie and the Drake Detective Agency take on cases of all shapes and sizes. She only hires women at her Agency. From airplanes and booze running to American G-men, Communists and union busters are some of her cases. Frankie's fearless sense of adventure gets her into all kinds of trouble but she always manages to find her way out.
In this episode titled Mother of Pearl, Frankie becomes a suspect in a jewelry heist. In order to solve this case Frankie is forced to partner with an unlikely ally. This series doesn't seem old-fashioned except for the cars and the clothing. It is definitely the age of jazz!! I really like the cars of this period and Frankie also has a motorcycle. I think it is very interesting. 5 1/2* (I really like this series)
