This film is based on a 1978 novel by
Julian Symons and set in the Victorian era of the 1890’s. The head of a toy company dies suddenly and then his mother
dies soon after. Two families, the
Collards and the Vandervents own the company. They also live together in spacious Albert Villa near the
London suburb of Blackheath. To
outsiders, it appears they have the perfect life but there are many secrets.
I enjoyed watching this with it’s
twists and turns. I was not able to pick out who committed the murders because final clues are not revealed until the
last segment. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
