Call The Midwife Season 8: Episode 5 2019

In this Episode Trixie cares for a young woman and she has been diagnosed with an intersex condition.  Lois Parry symptoms are that her vagina is shorter in length, she has never had a period and doctor Turner can’t detect a cervix.  Dr. Turner sends her to a specialist at the hospital.  This doctor is very insensitive and he invites male medical students to observe his examination.  Lois is horrified by this treatment and naturally very distressed!!  Dr. Turner lets Lois know that the exam revealed she has two male testes instead of ovaries.  It’s called texticular feminization syndrome.  Lois was planning to get married and all the arrangements have been made.  What will she tell her fiancé Paul??  She also will not be able to have children.
Another couple, Pam and George Sharp lost their first baby and they are understandably very nervous.  Pam is trying to be calm and move along but George is always extremely worried.  Pam can see the worry in his face every time she looks at him?  George is actually having physical pain and Dr. Turner diagnosis it as a “phantom pregnancy.”  George is having weight gain, insomnia and nausea?  Dr. Turner assures Pam and George that the pregnancy is going along very well and they need to begin looking forward to the birth and not dreading it!!  I had not heard of an intersex condition before?  I have heard of men having the same aches and pains as their wife during a pregnancy.  5* (I really liked this series)
