Jack the Giant Slayer 2013

Jack the Giant Slayer

Jack takes a horse and cart to the market to sell the horse for his uncle.  His parents have passed away and his uncle needs the money to fix the roof of their house.  He stops at a play being performed and defends the honor of a young woman who turns out to be the daughter of the King.  When he goes outside, he finds the cart has been stolen.  The castle guards are hunting for a monk who stole unusual beans from the castle.  He tries to buy the horse from Jack with the beans, Jack says no but when he turns around the monk is riding away on the horse.  His uncle is not very happy when Jack returns home without the cart, without the horse and with a small pouch of beans.
This is just too long, it’s OK but needs to end about 15 minutes before it does.  There are a few funny scenes but not very many.  Some interesting special effects.  3* (This movie is OK)

114 min, Fantasy directed by D.J. Caruso, Bryan Singer with Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Eddie Marsan, Ewen Bremner, Ian McShane.

Note:  Blockbuster 3*, imdb 6.4 out of 10, 52% critic 57% audience on
