Ichiro
is a young boy living in Tokyo.
His parents work hard at their jobs and Ichiro spends a lot of time
alone. Another boy in school and
his gang are also bullying him. Ichiro
likes to imagine and he dreams he is on Monster Island where he is a friend to
Minya, the son of Godzilla. He
watches Godzilla and Minya fight other monsters on the island including Gabara,
this monster has the head of a cat.
The other monsters are giant spiders, Ebirah (the giant sea monster) and
a giant praying mantis. The police
are looking for two men who have robbed a bank. The men are hiding out in an abandoned building where Ichiro
likes to play.
This
movie is not very good except for Ichiro and his parents. I also liked the old cars and trucks from this period plus the roar of Godzilla. The only other movie that I can compare
it to for awfulness is Manos: The Hands of Fate. This is a 1966 movie with 1.9 out of 10 on Imdb. Manos is about a family getting
lost on the road and they encounter a hidden, underground devil-worshiping
cult. I compare a lot of movies to
this film to base just how bad they can actually be!! 2* (I didn’t like this movie)
